Gerente de Contabilidad

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Lead offshore accounting operations in Colombia.

• Oversee daily accounting functions to produce accurate monthly financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.

• Report directly to the Accounting Director.

• Manage and supervise a team of supervisors and accounting staff.

• Mentor, coach, motivate, and train the offshore accounting team in Colombia.

• Coordinate month-end closing procedures.

• Support annual audits by providing comprehensive documentation and assisting external auditors.

• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal financial controls.

• Review and approve monthly journal entries for adjustments and accruals, daily cash transactions, and property acquisitions.

• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial statements, schedules for partners/clients, and fee schedules.

• Supervise lease schedules in accordance with ASC-842.

• Record and reconcile investments in associates following GAAP principles and partnership agreements.

• Manage ad hoc accounting tasks and strategic projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

• Over 5 years of general accounting experience.

• Proven experience within the real estate industry, including property-level accounting.

• More than 3 years of experience in team management and leadership.

• In-depth understanding of US GAAP, financial processes, and internal controls.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including handling large data sets and complex calculations.

• Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite.

• Familiarity with Yardi.

• Advanced English, B2+/C1 level, both verbal and written.

• Ability to communicate fluently with stakeholders in the United States.
