Geologist – On Call

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Conduct assessments of Oil, Gas, and Mineral (OGM) resources to evaluate their presence, quality, and development potential for both energy and non-energy minerals.

• Analyze databases related to oil and gas permitting, as well as mines from the Florida DEP, along with local and regional geological maps, lithologic boring reports, and additional data from the DEP-Florida Geological Survey.

• Draft concise technical reports that summarize findings from OGM assessments.

• Create or coordinate GIS map exhibits and supplementary information regarding well-boreholes.

• Carry out various geology-related duties that support the Environment & Planning Division.

• Collaborate effectively with project managers, technical experts, and regulatory stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Science, or a closely related discipline.

• Over 5 years of confirmed geological work experience utilizing geologic principles in environmental, natural resource, and other projects necessitating geological assessments.

• A current and active Florida Professional Geologist (PG) license.

• At least 1 year of experience in analyzing geological, soil, and/or groundwater data for technical reporting purposes.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in preparing technical documents, reports, or environmental assessments.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience employing standard geological or environmental data analysis methods and tools.

• Experience in supporting projects that adhere to Florida environmental regulations.

• Background in working on multidisciplinary environmental or infrastructure projects.

• Proficiency in GIS software, such as ArcGIS Pro.

• Capability to manage multiple priorities and adhere to project deadlines.
