This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Oversee generators, identify and address issues, install or replace components or complete systems, and carry out maintenance or upgrades on off-season equipment.
• Perform performance assessments and routine maintenance to guarantee generator functionality.
• Interpret and adhere to blueprints or other design specifications for installation and repair work.
• Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, alongside other components.
• Conduct tests on installed components to ensure proper functionality.
• Respond swiftly to power/generator alarms.
• Promptly handle assigned phone calls and emails.
• Execute work safely in environments with hazards related to power supply equipment, switchgear, and similar apparatus.
• Employ safety equipment and adhere to safety protocols.
• Attend and engage in mandatory safety and training meetings.
• Service and repair commercial generators located on cell phone towers within the designated area.
• Travel as needed.
• A minimum of two years of experience in generator maintenance is preferred.
• At least one year of significant experience with generator and electrical maintenance-related software, hardware, and processes.
• Comprehensive understanding of generator installation, maintenance, and repair procedures.
• Familiarity with electronic, mechanical, and electrical components.
• Moderate proficiency in computer skills.
• Basic understanding of relevant FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations.
• Must adhere to OSHA Standards.
• Capability to lift over 50 pounds, as well as stoop, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and stand for extended periods.
• Proficient in inspecting and/or troubleshooting equipment and alarms effectively, both visually and audibly.
• Willingness and capability to drive long distances and work during day, evening, or night shifts.
• Readiness to work overtime, respond to emergency callouts, and work on weekends and holidays as needed.
• Must be available for 24-hour on-call duty when assigned and be prepared for extended periods away from home.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical examination.
