This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Oversee the maintenance of generators, troubleshoot and repair issues, install and replace components or entire systems, and conduct maintenance or upgrades on off-season equipment.
• Execute performance evaluations and routine generator upkeep to ensure operational readiness.
• Interpret and adhere to blueprints or other design specifications for installation and repairs.
• Set up fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, and other components; verify proper functionality.
• React swiftly to power/generator alarm signals.
• Respond to assigned phone calls and emails in a timely manner.
• Carry out work safely around hazards linked to power supply equipment, switchgear, and other apparatus.
• Employ safety equipment and adhere to safety practices.
• Attend and engage in designated safety and training sessions.
• Travel to commercial generators located on cell phone towers within the designated region.
• At least one year of extensive work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance-related software, hardware, and processes.
• Preferably two or more years of experience in generator maintenance.
• Comprehensive knowledge of generator installations, maintenance, and repairs.
• Familiarity with electronic, mechanical, and electrical components.
• Moderate proficiency with computers.
• Basic understanding of relevant FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations.
• Capacity to adhere to OSHA standards.
• Capability to lift over 50 pounds, stoop, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and remain standing for extended periods.
• Ability to effectively inspect and troubleshoot equipment and alarms, both visually and audibly.
• Willingness and capability to drive long distances and work during day, evening, or night hours.
• Readiness to work overtime, respond to emergency callouts, and work weekends and holidays as necessary.
• Ability to take on 24-hour on-call duty when assigned and be away from home for extended durations.
• Must be capable of passing a DOT physical examination.
