This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee the maintenance of generators, troubleshoot and resolve issues, install and replace parts or complete systems, and carry out maintenance or upgrades on equipment that is not in use during off-peak seasons.
• Perform regular maintenance and performance assessments to guarantee the generators are operational.
• Interpret and adhere to blueprints or design specifications for installation and repair tasks.
• Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, along with other necessary components.
• Conduct tests on installed components to verify proper functionality.
• Quickly respond to power and generator alarms.
• Address incoming phone calls and emails without delay.
• Execute work safely in environments with hazards related to power supply equipment, switchgear, and other associated tools.
• Utilize safety gear and adhere to safety protocols.
• Participate in mandatory safety and training meetings.
• Service and repair commercial generators located on cell phone towers within the designated area.
• Travel as necessary to meet client and business requirements.
• At least one year of substantial work experience related to generator and electrical maintenance software, hardware, and processes.
• Preferably two or more years of experience in generator maintenance.
• Comprehensive understanding of generator installation, maintenance, and repair procedures.
• Familiarity with electronic, mechanical, and electrical components.
• Moderate proficiency in computer skills.
• Basic understanding of relevant FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations.
• Capacity to adhere to OSHA Standards.
• Capability to lift over 50 pounds, as well as stoop, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and stand for extended periods.
• Proficient in inspecting and/or troubleshooting equipment and alarms both visually and audibly.
• Willingness and ability to drive long distances and work during day, evening, or night shifts.
• Flexibility to work overtime, respond to emergency callouts, and be available on weekends and holidays as necessary.
• Availability to undertake 24-hour on-call duty when assigned and potentially be away from home for significant durations.
• Ability to successfully pass a DOT physical examination.
