Generator Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Service and repair commercial generators located on cell phone towers within the designated region.

• Maintain generators while diagnosing and resolving any issues.

• Install and replace individual components or entire systems as needed.

• Carry out additional maintenance or upgrades on equipment not in use during off-seasons.

• Perform regular performance checks and maintenance to ensure generators are ready for operation.

• Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring, controls, and other necessary components.

• Test equipment to verify proper functionality.

• Respond swiftly to power and generator alarms.

• Be available for 24/7 on-call duty as required.

• Execute work safely around hazards associated with installation and maintenance.

• Utilize safety equipment and adhere to safety practices.

• Attend and participate in safety and training meetings as designated.

• Respond promptly to assigned phone calls and emails.

• Adjust responsibilities as business and client needs change.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least one year of intensive experience with generator and electrical maintenance-related software, hardware, and processes.

• Preferred two or more years of experience in generator maintenance.

• Comprehensive knowledge of generator installation, maintenance, and repair processes.

• Familiarity with electronic, mechanical, and electrical components.

• Moderate computer skills are required.

• Basic understanding of relevant FCC, FAA, EPA, and OSHA regulations.

• Capability to comply with OSHA Standards.

• Ability to lift over 50 pounds, and perform tasks such as stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.

• Competence in inspecting and/or troubleshooting equipment and alarms both visually and audibly.

• Willingness and ability to drive long distances and work during day, evening, or night shifts.

• Readiness to work overtime, respond to emergency callouts, and work on weekends and holidays as necessary.

• Ability to assume 24-hour on-call duty when assigned and be away from home for extended periods.

• Must be able to pass a DOT physical examination.

• Openness to travel as required.

• Capability to read and follow blueprints or other design specifications.

• Ability to respond quickly to power and generator alarms along with assigned phone and email communications.
