General Superintendent – Concrete Division

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Establish and uphold high standards for safety and quality.

• Analyze specifications and blueprints to plan material requirements, construction procedures, and schedules.

• Assemble and coordinate supervisory, clerical, engineering, field workers, and subcontractors.

• Set up construction sites effectively.

• Procure tools and materials for timely delivery.

• Oversee supervisory personnel and subcontractors in planning and executing work procedures.

• Interpret specifications and coordinate construction phases to avoid delays while ensuring quality.

• Address workforce complaints and grievances.

• Tackle construction issues and enhance methods in collaboration with supervisors, engineers, inspectors, and suppliers.

• Inspect ongoing work for quality of workmanship, safety compliance, and adherence to schedules.

• Prepare or review reports on progress, materials, and costs; adjust schedules as necessary.

• Ensure the accuracy and timely completion of documentation and cost-related documents.

• Verify that purchase orders, receiving reports, and timesheets are accurately coded.

• Direct workers on significant maintenance or reconditioning projects.

• Communicate, implement, and enforce Gray's safety program on-site.

• May manage subordinate supervisors and field/craft personnel, including training, assigning work, performance evaluations, discipline, and problem-solving.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or a minimum of five years of experience and/or training related to concrete; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Basic computer proficiency, including word processing, spreadsheets, and email applications.

• An energetic, self-motivated individual who thrives in a team environment.

• A strong interest in collaboration and professional growth.

• Capability to meet physical demands, including frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.

• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs.

• Accurate vision for both near and distant objects.

• Ability to work in wet/humid conditions, around moving mechanical parts, outdoors, at heights, and around fumes, airborne particles, extreme temperatures, electrical shock hazards, explosives, vibration, and moderate-to-loud noise levels.

• Willingness to work overtime.
