This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +21 more states.
• Provide strategic and operational guidance for transit and paratransit services.
• Oversee daily transit operations while ensuring adherence to contractual obligations.
• Cultivate and sustain robust client relationships, acting as the primary operational contact.
• Recognize operational risks and implement effective mitigation measures.
• Evaluate service performance, productivity, staffing, and operational trends.
• Create and execute operational strategies to achieve contract and business goals.
• Lead initiatives in employee development, coaching, succession planning, and performance management.
• Foster and uphold a strong culture focused on safety.
• Ensure compliance with ADA, DOT, FTA, and organizational policies and procedures.
• Oversee federally mandated Drug and Alcohol programs.
• Monitor budget performance and identify areas for operational efficiency.
• Assist in the implementation of new business launches, service expansions, and growth initiatives.
• Maintain necessary operational, personnel, and vehicle documentation.
• Provide regular reports and operational updates to internal leadership and clients.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as required.
• Local and overnight travel may be necessary.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Progressive leadership experience in transit, paratransit, transportation, logistics, fleet operations, public transportation, mobility services, or similar service-oriented fields.
• Proven experience in leading teams, managing employee performance, and mentoring supervisors.
• Experience in overseeing operational performance and service delivery.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Familiarity with budgets, operational metrics, and reporting processes.
• Valid driver's license.
• Preferred: experience in managing transit or paratransit operations.
• Preferred: experience within a contract-driven or public sector environment.
• Preferred: knowledge of ADA, DOT, and FTA regulations.
• Preferred: experience with transit scheduling, routing, dispatching, or transportation technology platforms.
• Preferred: experience in contract management and/or project management.
• Medium Operations: 5+ years of leadership experience managing a multimillion-dollar operation and teams of approximately 50+ employees.
• Large Operations: 7+ years of leadership experience managing extensive, multimillion-dollar operations with 100+ employees.
• Outstanding client relationship management skills.
• Strong capabilities in leadership and team development.
• Expertise in data analysis and operational reporting.
• Experience in budget and cost management.
• Skills in process improvement and change management.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Advanced proficiency in computer and business systems.
