General Manager, Assistant General Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Take the lead during service on the floor, providing immediate coaching, supporting the team, and ensuring outstanding guest hospitality.

• Own the guest experience by addressing concerns and transforming service recovery into guest loyalty.

• Foster the development of team members and cultivate a robust restaurant culture.

• Collaborate with the General Manager to recruit, interview, hire, onboard, cultivate, and retain the restaurant staff.

• Lead and mentor restaurant leaders and team members throughout opening, service, and closing operations.

• Manage labor deployment while balancing guest experience, productivity, and financial performance.

• Uphold standards for food quality, hospitality, cleanliness, and food safety.

• Work with the GM to oversee inventory, food costs, waste management, ordering, and COGS.

• Contribute to P&L performance by analyzing sales, labor, COGS, and business metrics.

• Assume General Manager responsibilities as necessary and prepare for future GM opportunities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of restaurant leadership experience in a full-service restaurant, hospitality group, or similar environment.

• A genuine enthusiasm for hospitality and the ability to lead from the floor, inspiring the team during service.

• Proven track record of fostering strong restaurant cultures.

• Strong intuition for guest experience and service excellence.

• Capability to hire, develop, coach, and retain talent across various levels.

• Experience in managing or contributing to labor, sales, COGS, inventory, forecasting, and P&L performance.

• A growth mindset with a desire to advance towards General Manager-level leadership.

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.

• NYC Food Handlers License is required.

• Proficiency in Spanish, French, and/or Arabic is an advantage.
