General Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Build and expand Sifflet’s legal department as the organization grows within Europe and the US.

• Provide counsel to the CEO, board, and leadership team.

• Draft, review, and negotiate enterprise SaaS contracts, data processing agreements, NDAs, and strategic collaborations.

• Develop scalable processes for handling high-volume enterprise transactions.

• Assist with corporate governance, shareholder relations, and equity/ESOP management.

• Collaborate with leadership during financing rounds and corporate structuring for the France headquarters and US subsidiary.

• Ensure adherence to GDPR, EU data/AI regulations, and ISO and SOC2 security standards.

• Keep track of emerging AI legislation in France, the EU, and beyond.

• Offer advice on French labor law and international employment regulations.

• Aid in recruitment and establishment of subsidiaries in new markets.

• Provide a French legal perspective while facilitating US expansion.

⛳️ Requirements

• French bar–certified attorney.

• Minimum of 8+ years of experience.

• Preferably a blend of law firm and in-house experience in a high-growth SaaS/tech environment.

• Profound knowledge of French commercial law.

• Strong grasp of contract negotiations for enterprise SaaS.

• Background in corporate governance, fundraising, and data protection (GDPR).

• Familiarity with US law and international expansion is a significant advantage.

• Business-minded and pragmatic, effectively balancing risk with growth opportunities.

• Exceptional communication skills, capable of translating legal concepts into clear advice for business stakeholders.

• Entrepreneurial mindset suitable for fast-paced, scaling environments.

• Full professional proficiency in both French and English.
