This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Assist in the modernization of federal agencies by constructing, deploying, automating, and maintaining secure and efficient cloud environments.
• Collaborate with a lead architect to provide hands-on implementation and operational support for cloud-related projects.
• Utilize Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code to develop reusable modules and ensure secure configurations.
• Design and manage GCP compute, networking, security, and automation services.
• Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications using GKE.
• Develop and maintain serverless applications with Cloud Run, focusing on Python-based services.
• Implement and oversee monitoring, logging, and tracing systems.
• Diagnose complex cloud systems, including performance issues, network connectivity, GKE, and IAM permissions.
• Create and update architecture diagrams, runbooks, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure consistent, agency-aligned GCP operations that comply with federal frameworks.
• At least six (6) years of experience in setting up, configuring, and utilizing GCP cloud operational tools to fulfill service level agreements, performance objectives, and compliance standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proficient in GCP core services, including Compute Engine for both Linux (Red Hat) and Windows.
• Familiarity with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Run, and Python-based services.
• Strong knowledge of VPC, DNS, Load Balancing, hybrid connectivity, firewalls, and network security policies.
• Advanced understanding of GCP IAM, including custom roles and policies, as well as Workload Identity Federation (WIF).
• Experience with Secret Manager, Pub/Sub, VPC Service Controls, and VM Binary Authorization.
• Skilled in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and the creation of reusable Terraform modules.
• Proven experience in developing and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build and GitHub Actions.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills related to performance, networking, GKE, and IAM permissions.
• Ability to implement and manage monitoring, logging, and tracing systems effectively.
• Competence in creating and maintaining architecture diagrams, runbooks, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Must possess US work authorization without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.
