Gas Inspector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Execute and finalize inspections in accordance with the risk model and contractual commitments with the HSE.

• Conduct inspections based on Gas Industry Statutory and Normative documents as well as internal operational procedures.

• Collaborate with registered businesses to ensure that identified defects are recognized, resolved to the required standards, and completed within the specified timeframes.

• Prepare inspection reports within the designated Service Level Agreement and expected quality standards.

• Take necessary actions when unsafe or illegal gas work is detected.

• Communicate effectively and professionally with registered businesses and gas consumers.

• Keep technical knowledge and industry awareness up to date through continuous professional development (CPD).

• Operate independently within the community while managing a designated portfolio of registered businesses.

• Manage workload and travel throughout Leeds and nearby areas.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum ACS certificates of competence: CCN1, CENWAT1, CKR1, and HTR1.

• Experience in working with various gas appliances and/or overseeing the quality of gas work.

• Knowledge of Health & Safety, Building Regulations, and related codes and normative documents.

• Capability to assess risks in environments and make appropriate safety judgments.

• Proficiency in using tools and conducting necessary tests and checks during inspections.

• Understanding of issues impacting gas, plumbing, electrical, and H&V installation businesses.

• Additional ACS certificates in LPG, Non-Domestic & Catering, LAU1, and DAH1 are advantageous.

• Relevant auditor qualifications such as D32/A1 or equivalent are preferred.

• Experienced gas professional capable of working independently, making evidence-based decisions, and managing difficult professional discussions.

• Organized, resilient, and dedicated to maintaining high technical and safety standards.

• Willingness and capability to travel across Leeds and surrounding areas.
