Garnishment Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Review and establish all garnishment orders, which includes preparing orders and correspondence for scanning.

• Maintain garnishment regulations in the payroll system, ensuring thorough research and testing of withholding requirements based on state regulations and garnishment types.

• Draft, review, and process reports to automate response letters and interrogatory replies.

• Manage garnishment screens by inputting relevant start and stop dates in line with order details and deadlines.

• Address and resolve payroll and garnishment inquiries from courts, agencies, and employees.

• Collaborate with both internal and external departments to address questions and resolve issues.

• Process lump-sum payments and calculate withholding amounts for quarterly bonuses, annual bonuses, and other lump-sum payments.

• Engage in special projects, which include account reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.

• Participate in cross-training with fellow team members.

• General understanding of payroll functions and processes, including bookkeeping, payroll tax, fringe benefits, and garnishments.

• Proficient in the use of PC spreadsheet applications.

• Capable of working within established service level deadlines.

• Ability to multi-task, analyze legal orders, and perform tasks efficiently and accurately.

• Strong attention to detail coupled with excellent analytical abilities.
