Garnishment Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Review and establish all garnishment orders, which includes preparing orders and correspondence for scanning purposes.

• Maintain garnishment regulations within the payroll system, conducting research and testing to ensure proper withholdings based on state regulations and garnishment types.

• Compose, assess, and process reports to facilitate the automation of response letters and interrogatory replies.

• Manage garnishment screens by inputting relevant start and stop dates in accordance with orders and deadlines.

• Address and resolve payroll and garnishment inquiries from courts, agencies, and employees.

• Collaborate with both internal and external departments and contacts to provide answers and resolve issues.

• Process lump-sum payments and coordinate with agencies to ascertain withholding amounts for bonuses and other lump-sum disbursements.

• Engage in special projects, including account reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.

• Cross-train with other team members.

• General understanding of payroll functions and processing, which encompasses bookkeeping, payroll taxes, fringe benefits, and garnishments.

• Proficient in the use of PC spreadsheet applications.
