Garnishment Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Review and establish garnishment orders, including the preparation of orders and correspondence for scanning.

• Maintain garnishment regulations in the payroll system through research and testing to ensure proper withholding based on state laws and garnishment types.

• Compose, assess, and process reports to automate response letters and interrogatory replies.

• Update garnishment screens by inputting relevant start and stop dates in accordance with orders and deadlines.

• Address and resolve payroll and garnishment inquiries from courts, agencies, and employees.

• Collaborate with both internal and external departments and contacts, including check collection agencies, courts, and attorneys.

• Process lump-sum payments and calculate withholding amounts for bonuses and other lump-sum disbursements.

• Participate in special projects, including account reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and cross-training with team members.

• Resolve issues related to processing automation failures and ensure successful automation of processes.

• General understanding of payroll functions and processing, which includes bookkeeping, payroll taxes, fringe benefits, and garnishments.
