Garnishment Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Review and establish garnishment orders, which includes preparing orders and correspondence for digitization.

• Sustain garnishment regulations in the payroll system by conducting research and testing to ensure correct withholding in line with state regulations and garnishment types.

• Draft, assess, and manage reports to streamline the creation of response letters and interrogatory replies.

• Update garnishment screens with relevant start and stop dates based on order details and deadlines.

• Address and resolve payroll and garnishment inquiries from courts, agencies, and employees.

• Collaborate with both internal and external departments, including check collection agencies, courts, and legal representatives.

• Process lump-sum payments and calculate withholding amounts for quarterly, annual bonuses, and other lump-sum disbursements.

• Engage in special projects, such as account reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and cross-training with team members.

• Fundamental understanding of payroll processes and operations, including bookkeeping, payroll taxes, fringe benefits, and garnishments.

• Proficient in the use of PC spreadsheet software.
