This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Create and develop the narrative content for the game: chapter frameworks, character dialogues, task descriptions, and narrative elements that link gameplay progress to an evolving storyline.
• Design the game world and map content: spatial layouts, unlocking sequences, points of interest, and the pacing of how the game environment gradually reveals itself to the player.
• Develop item content: item categories, collections, and rewards, ensuring each item possesses a distinct identity and integrates seamlessly within the game's setting and economy.
• Organize content into levels, chapters, and tasks with appropriately paced challenges and session objectives.
• Collaborate closely with the game designer to balance content against the game economy, utilizing spreadsheets and configuration files.
• Write detailed and structured content specifications and briefs for artists and developers, and assess implemented content within the game.
• Ensure consistency of tone, world-building, and character portrayal throughout all content.
• Plan and generate content for live operations: new areas, story arcs, events, and seasonal updates following the game's launch.
• A minimum of 3 years experience as a game content designer, game designer, level designer, or narrative designer on free-to-play mobile or web games.
• Successfully shipped at least one F2P title, preferably within the casual gaming sector (merge, hidden object, match-3, decoration, or similar genres).
• Strong comprehension of casual game progression: task pacing, difficulty gradients, session design, and how content enhances player retention.
• Excellent writing abilities in English, with the capability to produce concise in-game text and character dialogue.
• Proficient in working with data: spreadsheets, configuration files, and content pipelines are within your comfort zone.
• Organized and detail-oriented, able to maintain consistency and documentation across extensive interconnected content.
• Practical experience in story-driven casual genres (merge, hidden object, match-3 with meta, decoration) either as a designer or as an avid player.
• Strong player empathy and the capacity to articulate the effectiveness of your content.
• Experience in writing briefs for artists and guiding them throughout the production of the necessary art assets to support the narrative.
