This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Serve as a community representative for HCI in Calgary, enhancing the organization’s visibility and engaging new donors with its mission.
• Build and maintain relationships with major donors, community leaders, and partners.
• Utilize social media platforms to amplify HCI’s messaging, campaigns, and events within the Calgary community.
• Keep an organized calendar of outreach initiatives, including community events, workshops, and speaking engagements.
• Identify and connect with high-net-worth individuals, collaborating with national leadership to align donor interests with significant projects.
• Forge partnerships with local schools, colleges, universities, NGOs, and community organizations.
• Create and implement targeted fundraising strategies and innovative campaigns across direct mail, online giving, peer-to-peer fundraising, and major gifts.
• Set and monitor fundraising goals, providing updates and impact reports to leadership.
• Analyze donor data to recognize giving trends and enhance fundraising efforts.
• Organize and execute community events in Calgary, coordinating volunteers and stakeholders.
• Gather feedback and evaluate event outcomes to guide future planning.
• Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers for outreach and fundraising initiatives.
• Develop initiatives aimed at youth and opportunities for youth engagement.
• Identify local grant opportunities and funding sources.
• Prepare grant proposals and ensure adherence to grant requirements and reporting standards.
• Build relationships with local foundations and grantmakers.
• Track and manage donor information and financial contributions using HCI systems.
• Ensure all documentation meets HCI’s compliance standards and regulatory requirements.
• Post-secondary qualification in events planning, fundraising, project management, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
• Experience in fundraising, sales, or event planning, ideally within a non-profit context.
• Demonstrated success in community activism and volunteering.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and a customer-oriented approach.
• Strong prioritization and time management skills.
• Collaborates well in a team while also being able to work independently.
• Commitment to the values and mission of HCI.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in French or another language is an advantage.
• A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are necessary.
• Occasional travel, along with evening and weekend work, will be required.
