This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Conduct research and create profiles for key donors, foundations, and conference participants ahead of CEO engagements to ensure every meeting is optimized.

• Take charge of follow-up communications. Compose outreach emails, thank-you notes, and cultivation messages in the voice of the CEO, ensuring the appropriate tone, timing, and next steps are considered.

• Guide donors through the cultivation process — from initial outreach to scheduled meetings and secured commitments.

• Identify and monitor grant opportunities that align with Parity’s mission, managing submission timelines from start to finish.

• Craft persuasive grant proposals, letters of inquiry, donor reports, and major gift case statements.

• Prepare the CEO for speaking engagements and conferences by developing briefing materials that highlight funding opportunities.

• Maintain and regularly update the donor CRM to ensure the pipeline remains current and actionable.

• Actively propose new funding strategies and prospect ideas — taking initiative without needing direction.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in business development, nonprofit development, major gifts, or a donor-facing fundraising position — we value your achievements over your job title.

• A track record of writing successful grant proposals or major donor communications that led to funding.

• Understanding of donor cultivation strategies and the major gifts fundraising cycle.

• Ability to operate as an extension of a CEO or senior leader — drafting communications in their voice, representing their brand, and managing follow-through effectively.

• Experience in a startup, early-stage organization, or resource-constrained environment is a significant advantage.

• Familiarity with CRM systems (any platform) is beneficial but not mandatory.
