Fund Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage daily fund operations, including financial accounting, capital calls and distributions, investor and financial reporting, as well as cash management.

• Prepare and assess quarterly and annual financial statements, capital account statements, and allocations at the investor level.

• Analyze limited partnership agreements, subscription documents, and side letters to apply their economic terms to allocations, waterfalls, and fee calculations.

• Collaborate with banking, legal, audit, and tax service providers.

• Work alongside software development teams to identify, test, and implement workflow automation and efficiency enhancements.

• Assist in fundraising, due diligence, and investor relations activities.

• Lead special projects and initiatives as needed.

• Adhere to and enhance compliance policies and process documentation.

• Address inquiries from investors and advisors.

• Establish yourself as the trusted owner of a defined set of funds and an internal subject-matter expert.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–3+ years of experience in fund administration, private markets (venture capital or private equity), fintech, or another finance-related professional services role.

• Demonstrated skills in operations and project management.

• Understanding of fund accounting and administration principles in private markets along with relevant reporting requirements.

• Experience in a regulated and supervised industry.

• Strong analytical abilities encompassing both quantitative and qualitative metrics.

• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

• Capability and eagerness to lead and manage complex projects and tasks.

• All I-9 eligible candidates will be considered.

• CPA or CFA certification, or significant progress towards either (preferred).

• Experience in public accounting within an alternative investments or financial services practice (preferred).

• Practical experience with a fund accounting platform or transitioning between platforms (preferred).

• Proficiency in SQL, advanced Excel, or AI-assisted tools (preferred).

• A reliable broadband internet connection is required.
