This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Determine functional requirements.
• Create the functional architecture, use-case architecture, and service architecture.
• Identify applicable volumes.
• Define interaction protocols.
• Develop the data conversion strategy.
• Engage in architecture review sessions to establish direction and ensure the integration of solutions in line with project guidelines.
• Enhance the evaluation of the solution’s costs and benefits.
• Assist in formulating the implementation plan.
• Document completed tasks.
• Provide support to development teams and analysts regarding functional architecture.
• Collaborate on integrated testing and assist in testing and deploying changes with users.
• Conduct impact analyses and generate functional assessments.
• Execute quality assurance on deliverables.
• Facilitate workshops.
• Aid project managers in addressing decision points.
• Evaluate change and defect-fix requests.
• Ensure knowledge transfer to designated personnel within the organization.
• Undertake any additional responsibilities related to a functional and application-systems architecture advisor.
• A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in information technology, including four (4) years as a functional and systems architecture advisor engaged in the development of computer systems on a mainframe platform.
• Must have acted as a functional and systems architecture advisor on three (3) projects, each with a minimum scope of 4,000 person-days, contributing at least 100 person-days per project.
• At least five (5) years of experience with CICS, IMS, DB2, and TSO technologies.
• A minimum of six (6) months of experience with a 3270 emulator.
