Fullstack Developer – Backend Focus

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of features from architecture, data modeling, and backend implementation to frontend, deployment, and production support.

• Design, build, and manage container-based backend services, APIs, and infrastructure on AWS.

• Create solutions for distributed, message-driven, and service-oriented architectures.

• Develop frontend features in Angular according to product specifications and design guidelines.

• Assess business needs and convert them into practical technical solutions.

• Continuously enhance application performance, reliability, and maintainability.

• Write clean, maintainable, and comprehensible code along with suitable automated tests.

• Perform detailed code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.

• Diagnose and resolve issues across backend, frontend, and infrastructure components.

• Work collaboratively with product, design, and fellow engineers in an agile environment.

• Regularly utilize AI coding assistants and agents; effectively delegate appropriate tasks and critically evaluate AI-generated code.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional software development experience, predominantly in backend engineering.

• Strong expertise in PHP and Symfony, or another backend ecosystem like Java, Python, or Node.js, with a readiness to work in PHP/Symfony from day one.

• Comprehensive understanding of REST APIs, message-based systems, microservices architectures, and distributed systems.

• Extensive experience with relational databases, data modeling, and schema design.

• Practical experience in implementing frontend features in Angular or a similar framework such as React or Vue.js.

• Proficient in component and state logic, API integration, and competent in styling to achieve a specified design.

• Experience with automated testing, Docker and containerized applications, and cloud-native development, preferably with AWS.

• Familiarity with AI coding assistants or agents like Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.

• Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of German is an advantage.

• Experience with NoSQL systems is an added benefit.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline design, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation), and serverless architectures is a plus.

• Understanding of Domain-Driven Design is a bonus.

• Experience in LLM-based application development, including RAG, tool/function calling, MCP servers, or agent orchestration, is advantageous.

• Background in component libraries, design systems, and optimizing frontend performance is a bonus.

• AWS certifications are a valuable addition.
