Full Time Virtual Teacher, Special Education

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Provide live, on-camera synchronous instruction for five or more hours each scheduled instructional day.

• Develop an engaging and well-structured virtual classroom environment.

• Tailor instruction based on student performance metrics.

• Recognize learning gaps and modify teaching strategies accordingly.

• Deliver timely and constructive feedback on student assignments.

• Maintain precise student records.

• Keep students and families updated and on track with their progress.

• Foster relationships with students and families through proactive communication.

• Collaborate with school partners and colleagues at Edmentum.

• Offer consistent, high-quality support throughout students’ learning experiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related discipline.

• Valid New Jersey state teaching license in Special Education for grades 6–12.

• Experience in teaching in both virtual and in-person environments.

• Comfort with the unique requirements of a live online classroom.

• Capability to teach live on camera for five or more consecutive hours each instructional day.

• Practical experience with online learning platforms, virtual instruction tools, and commonly used productivity software.

• Ability to analyze student performance data and adjust live instruction accordingly.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills and self-direction.

• Time management abilities to effectively handle a full student caseload in a remote setting.

• Dedication to professional development, maintaining certification, and staying updated on K–12 curriculum, technology, and best practices.

• Openness to taking on evolving responsibilities in response to business needs.
