Full-Time Faculty Assistant/Associate Professor, MSW Didactic & PPS Eligibility

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Create, sustain, evaluate, and instruct online courses within the Social Work programs.

• Ensure that courses are in accordance with program objectives and accreditation requirements.

• Guide and provide support to students, adjunct faculty, staff, and program stakeholders.

• Engage in professional, disciplinary, and institutional service, including committee participation and community involvement.

• Exhibit professional and collegial behavior with faculty, staff, and university leadership.

• Assist in program development, evaluation, and ongoing enhancement.

• Undertake additional tasks and projects as assigned in collaboration with the Dean.

• Involve yourself in curriculum development, service, mentoring, teaching, and other professional contributions that align with the University mission.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctorate (PhD, DSW, or a closely related field) in Social Work or a relevant discipline from an accredited institution; ABD candidates may be considered with degree completion by the start date.

• Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE accredited program.

• Eligible to obtain or currently possess a California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential with authorization in School Social Work and Child Welfare and Attendance.

• Applicants lacking the credential must fulfill California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) requirements and be eligible to obtain it within a designated timeframe.

• At least two years of post-MSW professional experience in social work.

• Experience in higher education teaching, preferably in online asynchronous formats.

• Knowledge of school social work, child welfare, trauma-informed practices, and culturally responsive services for diverse PK–12 student populations.

• Dedication to student-centered teaching and supporting a diverse adult learner population.

• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.

• Proficiency in developing and delivering contemporary, market-relevant curriculum, assessments, and learning activities in an online-first LMS.

• Experience utilizing data-informed strategies to improve student success and retention.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and professionals across various disciplines.

• Commitment to fostering a respectful, open, and constructive workplace culture.

• Preferred: active involvement in related professional and academic associations.

• Preferred: experience working as a school social worker in a K–12 educational environment.

• Preferred: current clinical social worker licensure, such as LCSW, or its equivalent.

• Preferred: understanding of competency-based education and assessment aligned with CSWE standards.

• Preferred: engagement in scholarly, professional, or community activities.

• Preferred: capability to manage, support, and train adjuncts online.
