Full-Stack Software Engineer – Compliance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of compliance-centric product domains from the initial problem definition and architecture to implementation, launch, production operations, and subsequent iterations.

• Develop sustainable interfaces utilizing React, Next.js, and TypeScript, in addition to Node.js APIs, data models, workflows, and integrations.

• Convert regulatory and operational requirements into user-friendly, testable product features for both customers and internal stakeholders.

• Integrate identity verification, sanctions, blockchain analytics, fraud detection, and case management providers while ensuring data quality, privacy, observability, and auditability.

• Plan for delayed and reordered vendor events, manual reviews, partial outages, retries, and conflicting states across systems.

• Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Operations, Product, Design, and users to navigate product and technical trade-offs.

• Utilize AI and machine learning to minimize manual tasks or enhance decision support while ensuring security, human oversight, explainability, and audit trails.

• Elevate team standards through design contributions, code reviews, operational responsibilities, and the use of modern AI engineering tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in developing and maintaining production full-stack applications using React, Next.js, Node.js, and TypeScript.

• Solid foundation in API and data model design, relational databases, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, testing, observability, and third-party integrations.

• Practical experience in building KYC/KYB, identity verification, onboarding, or similarly sensitive workflows.

• Strong comprehension of access controls, data protection, auditability, and secure system architecture.

• Proven track record of managing complex product tasks from start to finish.

• Capability to convert ambiguous policies into definite system behaviors, identify significant edge cases, and make practical compromises without sacrificing essential controls.

• High standards for security, accuracy, reliability, usability, and maintainability.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to quickly learn new domains and align technical, legal, compliance, and operational partners.

• Preferred: experience or knowledge of BSA/AML, OFAC, FinCEN, KYC/CDD, SEC, or FATF regulations.

• Preferred: background in fintech, payments, trading, crypto, or regulatory products.

• Preferred: experience in integrating offchain identity and compliance data with onchain activities.

• Preferred: experience assisting with audits, regulatory examinations, control testing, or compliance reporting.

• Preferred: experience implementing AI or machine learning in regulated operational workflows.
