Full-Stack Engineer, Kotlin, TypeScript/React

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Revise and enhance outdated libraries, dependencies, and frameworks to ensure the application remains stable and secure.

• Increase and broaden unit test coverage throughout the application.

• Conduct thorough testing of the system to confirm stability and functionality following upgrades.

• Detect and fix issues that arise from changes in dependencies or frameworks.

• Collaborate with the client's engineering team to synchronize on priorities and monitor progress.

• Assist with end-of-life maintenance tasks for an application that needs to stay operational longer than originally planned.

• Distribute work approximately equally between backend and frontend, with a slight emphasis on backend coding.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in English, both written and spoken, with a minimum of B2 level (90% or higher).

• Over 8 years of experience in full-stack development.

• Strong backend proficiency in Kotlin and Gradle.

• Solid frontend expertise in TypeScript and React.

• Experience in upgrading libraries/dependencies and migrating framework versions.

• Comprehensive understanding of unit testing principles along with experience in writing and maintaining tests.

• Ability to work autonomously and quickly acclimate to an existing codebase.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.

• Experience with end-of-life or legacy modernization projects is a plus.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is advantageous.

• Experience in small, agile teams is beneficial.
