Full-Stack Engineer, Kotlin, TypeScript, React

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Revise and enhance outdated libraries, dependencies, and frameworks to ensure the application's stability and security.

• Increase and extend unit test coverage throughout the application.

• Conduct comprehensive testing of the system post-upgrades to confirm stability and functionality.

• Detect and rectify issues arising from changes in dependencies or frameworks.

• Work collaboratively with the client's engineering team to synchronize on priorities and progress.

• Assist with end-of-life maintenance tasks for an application that continues to operate beyond its intended decommissioning.

• Distribute work approximately evenly between backend and frontend, with a slight emphasis on backend code.

• Quickly acclimate to an existing codebase.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in English, both written and spoken, at a minimum of B2 level (90% proficiency).

• Over 8 years of experience in full-stack development.

• Strong proficiency in backend development using Kotlin and Gradle.

• Significant frontend experience with TypeScript and React.

• Familiarity with upgrading libraries/dependencies and migrating framework versions.

• Solid grasp of unit testing principles along with experience in writing and maintaining tests.

• Capable of working independently and quickly adapting to an existing codebase.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.

• Experience with end-of-life or legacy modernization projects.

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.

• Experience working within small, agile teams.
