Full-Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of features from inception to completion: determine the technical strategy, develop across both frontend and backend, and deploy to production.

• Create and uphold dependable, high-performance APIs, data structures, and backend services.

• Develop refined, accessible frontend experiences with a focus on UI/UX elements.

• Construct and incorporate AI-driven functionalities, ranging from personalized learning environments to smart compliance tools, from initial concept to final production.

• Utilize AI-enhanced development resources like Claude Code and Copilot to expedite tasks and assist the team in adopting effective AI methodologies.

• Implement analytics and leverage data to inform product and engineering choices.

• Work closely with product teams, designers, and fellow engineers to achieve critical goals.

• Detect and address performance issues, technical debt, and reliability challenges.

• Provide mentorship to other engineers through code reviews, collaborative programming, and architectural advice.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience developing customer-facing web applications using Ruby on Rails.

• Extensive experience with React.

• Proficient in designing and creating RESTful APIs and engaging with relational databases.

• Proven ability to manage projects from conceptualization to production, including making architectural decisions.

• A history of elevating team standards through mentorship, code excellence, or process enhancements.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, or cloud services (AWS is preferred).

• Acquainted with responsive design, accessibility guidelines, and cross-browser functionality.

• Experience with observability tools such as logging, monitoring, and alerting.

• Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal, in English.

• Openness to working during US time zone hours for effective team collaboration.

• Preferred experience in integrating LLMs or AI/ML services into production applications.

• Preferred experience with A/B testing, personalization, or data-driven content customization.

• Background in a startup or rapidly growing environment is preferred.

• Familiarity with compliance, security awareness, or the ed-tech sector is preferred.
