Full-Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of features: define the technical strategy, develop both frontend and backend components, and deploy to production.

• Create and sustain robust, high-performance APIs, data structures, and backend services.

• Develop sleek, accessible frontend interfaces with a focus on UI/UX nuances.

• Construct and implement AI-driven features, ranging from tailored learning experiences to smart compliance tools, transitioning from prototype to production.

• Leverage AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code and Copilot to enhance productivity and facilitate the team's adoption of effective AI technologies.

• Implement analytics and utilize data to inform product and engineering choices.

• Work closely with product teams, designers, and fellow engineers to accomplish vital initiatives.

• Detect and address performance issues, technical debt, and reliability challenges.

• Guide and mentor other engineers through code reviews, collaboration, and architectural advice.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in developing customer-facing web applications using Ruby on Rails.

• Extensive experience with React.

• Proficient in designing and constructing RESTful APIs and engaging with relational databases.

• Comfortable managing projects from initial concept to production, including making architectural decisions.

• Proven history of elevating team standards through mentorship, code quality enhancements, or process improvements.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, or cloud services (preferably AWS).

• Knowledge of responsive design, accessibility principles, and cross-browser compatibility.

• Experience with observability tools (logging, monitoring, alerting).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Availability to work during US timezone hours for effective team collaboration.

• Experience with integrating LLMs or AI/ML services into live applications (preferred).

• Background in A/B testing, personalization, or data-driven content customization (preferred).

• Experience in a startup or rapidly growing environment (preferred).

• Understanding of compliance, security awareness, or educational technology sectors (preferred).
