Full-Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of features from start to finish: define the technical strategy, develop both frontend and backend components, and deploy to production.

• Design and uphold reliable, high-performance APIs, data models, and backend services.

• Create refined, accessible frontend experiences with a focus on UI/UX aspects.

• Develop and integrate AI-driven features, ranging from customized learning experiences to smart compliance tools, transitioning them from prototype to production.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code and Copilot to enhance productivity and facilitate the team's adoption of effective AI solutions.

• Implement analytics and leverage data to inform product and engineering choices.

• Work closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to achieve significant initiatives.

• Detect and address performance bottlenecks, technical debt, and reliability challenges.

• Guide other engineers through code reviews, collaborative coding, and architectural advice.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in developing customer-facing web applications using Ruby on Rails.

• Proficient in React.

• Experience in designing and constructing RESTful APIs and working with relational databases.

• Proven experience in managing projects from ideation to production, including making architectural compromises.

• A history of elevating team performance through mentorship, code quality enhancement, or process improvements.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, or cloud platforms (AWS preferred).

• Knowledge of responsive design, accessibility standards, and cross-browser compatibility.

• Experience with observability tools, including logging, monitoring, and alerting.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Availability to work US timezone hours for team collaboration.

• Preferred: Experience with integrating LLMs or AI/ML services into production applications.

• Preferred: Background in A/B testing, personalization, or data-driven content customization.

• Preferred: Experience in a startup or rapidly growing environment.

• Preferred: Knowledge of compliance, security awareness, or ed-tech sectors.
