Full-Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of features by defining the technical strategy, developing both frontend and backend components, and deploying to production.

• Create and uphold dependable, high-performance APIs, data models, and backend services.

• Develop refined and accessible frontend experiences with a focus on UI/UX elements.

• Implement and integrate AI-driven features, ranging from tailored learning experiences to smart compliance tools, transitioning from prototypes to production.

• Leverage AI-enhanced development tools like Claude Code and Copilot to expedite tasks and support the team's adoption of effective AI technologies.

• Set up analytics and utilize data to inform product and engineering choices.

• Work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to achieve key objectives.

• Detect and address performance issues, technical debt, and reliability challenges.

• Guide engineers through code reviews, collaborative work, and providing architectural insights.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in developing customer-facing web applications with Ruby on Rails.

• Proficient in React.

• Skilled in designing and creating RESTful APIs.

• Experience with relational databases.

• Proven ability to oversee projects from idea to production, including making architectural choices.

• History of enhancing team performance through mentorship, code quality, or process enhancements.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, or cloud platforms; AWS is preferred.

• Knowledgeable in responsive design, accessibility standards, and cross-browser functionality.

• Experienced with observability tools, including logging, monitoring, and alerting.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in English.

• Availability to work US timezone hours for team collaboration.

• Preferred: Experience incorporating LLMs or AI/ML services into production applications.

• Preferred: Background in A/B testing, personalization, or data-driven content customization.

• Preferred: Experience in a startup or high-growth setting.

• Preferred: Understanding of compliance, security awareness, or ed-tech sectors.
