Full-stack Engineer 4

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee a range of diverse technology projects and manage a team of developers utilizing distributed microservices and full-stack systems.

• Disseminate knowledge of technology trends, explore and learn new technologies, engage in technology communities, and mentor members of the engineering community.

• Work collaboratively with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that serve millions of Americans.

• Employ technologies such as Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, open-source relational and NoSQL databases, as well as Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS tools and services.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance across Agile teams.

• Establish standards for design, development, and operational excellence.

• Collaborate with architects to define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.

• Identify opportunities for improvement, implement refactoring, reduce technical debt, and enhance system performance.

• Shape long-term technology strategy by evaluating emerging tools and practices in a you-build-it-you-own-it environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in software engineering (internship experience is not included).

• At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.

• Preferred: A Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Preferred: 7+ years of coding experience with more than two of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, and Scala.

• Preferred: 3+ years of experience with databases and database management systems.

• Preferred: 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.

• Preferred: 4+ years of experience contributing to open source frameworks.

• Preferred: 3+ years of experience with front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks.

• Preferred: 4+ years of experience in creating synchronous and asynchronous APIs.

• Preferred: 3+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated testing frameworks.

• Preferred: 3+ years of experience using Git-based version-control systems.

• Preferred: 3+ years of experience troubleshooting technical issues within cloud environments.

• Experience with modern AI-based coding tools and IDE copilots.

• Preferred: 1+ year of mentoring engineers and fostering professional development within technical teams.

• Preferred: 1+ year of experience utilizing observability to identify and optimize performance bottlenecks in distributed systems.

• Experience with interactive AI tooling that extends beyond basic code completion.

• Experience leading cross-functional engineering projects or significant technical initiatives.

• Experience in establishing and enforcing coding standards and design patterns across teams.
