Full-Stack Developer, CRO & Experimentation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Technically implement the testing program, spanning from frontend execution in the Shopify theme to backend logic utilizing Shopify Functions and custom applications.

• Develop comprehensive A/B tests and personalization projects for the Shopify Plus store.

• Execute A/B and multivariate tests in Kameleoon using JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.

• Create and enhance sections, templates, and snippets within the Shopify theme using Liquid, HTML5, CSS3 (SCSS), and JavaScript.

• Integrate successful test variants into the production codebase.

• Develop Shopify Functions for discounts, cart and checkout modifications, and validation rules.

• Structure data models using metafields and metaobjects.

• Design, develop, and maintain custom applications utilizing Node.js/TypeScript, Remix, and Shopify CLI.

• Create internal administrative tools, Checkout UI Extensions, and storefront app blocks.

• Connect ERP, CRM, and marketing systems through the Admin API (GraphQL), webhooks, and event-driven workflows.

• Navigate rate limits, function constraints, and Checkout Extensibility.

• Ensure measurable tests through event and goal configurations and data transfer to GA4 / BigQuery.

• Conduct quality assurance across diverse browsers, devices, and markets.

• Track performance and stability while minimizing flicker and layout shifts (CLS).

• Document code effectively.

• Intentionally utilize and assist in developing standards for AI tools within workflows.

• Contribute to agile methodologies using Git, pull requests, and code reviews.

• Aid in deployments via CI/CD, including GitHub Actions.

• Collaborate closely with the CRO Lead, Web Development team, and external agencies.

• Gradually take on technical ownership of the experimentation framework.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in full-stack development within an e-commerce setting, preferably with Shopify / Shopify Plus.

• Hands-on experience with Shopify Functions and the development of custom Shopify applications.

• Proficient in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3 (SCSS), and Liquid.

• Familiarity with A/B testing tools, such as Kameleoon, VWO, or Optimizely, or a strong eagerness to learn quickly.

• Understanding of metafields / metaobjects, the Admin API, and webhooks.

• Experience with AI-assisted coding tools like Claude, Copilot, or Cursor, along with a commitment to continuous learning.

• Basic knowledge of web analytics and tracking (GA4, data layer), as well as performance metrics (Core Web Vitals).

• Competent in working with Git, conducting code reviews, and managing CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub Actions.

• Detail-oriented with a meticulous approach and high quality standards.

• Strong communication skills, team-oriented mindset, and a proactive approach.

• Must be permanently located in Germany.
