Full Stack Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Offer guidance and best practices for upgrading and modernizing AngularJS applications.

• Design, develop, and test new functionalities within VA-provided applications.

• Maintain regular communication with team members involved in development activities.

• Analyze, implement, test, and resolve bugs effectively.

• Create and implement software projects utilizing C# and the latest Angular framework.

• Assess user requirements and analyze system capabilities to address program and data issues.

• Prepare operational instructions for software use.

• Design and develop autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs.

• Create, build, and sustain efficient, reusable, and dependable Java code.

• Develop Java applications, APIs, and backend services utilizing Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices.

• Perform unit testing, debugging, and optimization for performance enhancement.

• Identify performance bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions.

• Prepare and produce releases for software components.

• Document development procedures and the structure of the codebase.

• Ensure compliance with software standards, federal regulations, VA security policies, and industry best practices.

• Provide advice and consultation to VA stakeholders regarding IT strategy and solution design.

• Facilitate workshops and meetings with representatives from the VA.

• Implement security measures to protect sensitive VA data and maintain IT system integrity.

• Conduct reviews and audits to ensure ongoing compliance and performance efficiency.

• Collaborate effectively with Project Managers, Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, architects, developers, testers, and VA stakeholders throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, accompanied by five (5) years or more of experience.

• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency (required).

• Capability to obtain a VA Position of Public Trust – Medium Background Investigation (MBI).

• Proficiency in AngularJS 14 (minimum) and/or versions up to and including 18; at least 4 years of experience with Angular.

• Extensive experience in backend development, including plugins and APIs.

• Strong command of Java and fundamental OOP principles; at least 4 years of experience with Java.

• Experience with Spring Boot, REST API development, SQL, and microservices architecture.

• Familiarity with Maven, Gradle, and Git.

• Ability to design and implement Java-based applications that align with business objectives.

• Basic knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript 5.x, TypeScript 4.x, Bootstrap 5.x, and JQuery 3.6.x.

• Experience with MS SQL Server, including writing stored procedures, understanding SQL, creating tables, and managing databases.

• Familiarity with HTTP web servers, reverse proxies, content caches, load balancers, and TCP/UDP proxy servers.

• Knowledge and experience with Visual Studio, versions 2019–2022.

• Strong work ethic and ability to manage tasks and deliverables under tight deadlines.

• Self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a remote setting.

• Reliable internet service to facilitate effective telecommuting.

• Preferred: Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs or other federal government software development initiatives.

• Preferred: Jira backend integration experience.
