Full-Stack Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Dakota, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Conceptualize, create, test, and sustain internal software applications encompassing both frontend and backend systems.

• Develop and uphold comprehensive solutions utilizing Angular for frontends and Symfony/PHP APIs, from written specifications through to implementation and deployment.

• Clarify requirements, scope, assumptions, edge cases, and any missing details prior to the development phase.

• Execute data modifications, which include Doctrine entities, relationships, migrations, API payloads, services, controllers, and the interaction with consuming interfaces.

• Enhance existing modules by adhering to established application patterns and conventions.

• Test features within the active application, verify the resulting data, and address scenarios that may be overlooked in the requirements.

• Troubleshoot issues across browser behavior, network requests, APIs, logs, backend services, client-side state, and user interfaces.

• Ensure unit and end-to-end test coverage is maintained and collaborate with Quality Assurance to meet acceptance criteria.

• Utilize AI development tools while independently assessing and validating the generated code and recommendations.

• Create clear pull requests, engage in code reviews, and document changes, assumptions, and any excluded scope.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

• Proven experience in guiding software features from written requirements through stages of development, testing, review, and final production release.

• Proficiency in reading and working with TypeScript and PHP, and the ability to evaluate the correctness and appropriateness of code, including that generated by AI.

• Solid understanding of HTTP, authentication and permissions, APIs, object-relational mapping (ORM), client-side state management, and the connections between frontend and backend.

• Experience with a component-based frontend framework such as Angular, React, or Vue.

• Comfortable navigating both frontend and backend application layers.

• Familiarity with relational data, schemas, relationships, foreign keys, and SQL.

• Working knowledge of Git, command-line tools, Docker-based development environments, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.

• Strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities.

• Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to operate effectively in ambiguous situations while collaborating with developers, QA, Product, and business stakeholders.

• Comfortable using AI development tools, or demonstrate an aptitude and interest in leveraging them as a central aspect of development.

• Preferred experience with Angular, NgRx, PrimeNG, Symfony, Doctrine, Vitest, Angular Testing Library, Playwright, PHPUnit, Bitbucket Pipelines, or similar technologies.

• Familiarity with professional services, accounting, or advisory environments is advantageous.
