French to English OPI/VRI Interpreters

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Louisiana.

📋 Description

• Professionally handle incoming calls, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Possess knowledge of industry-specific vocabulary, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without adding, omitting, or altering content.

• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the interpretation process.

• Enable effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and comprehensive interpretation of messages.

• Apply established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional development training.

• Demonstrate enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader regularly.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in Over-the-Phone Interpretation (OPI) is essential.

• Possession of Security Clearance (assistance in obtaining it will be provided if not already available).

• Must be a U.S. citizen or hold a Green Card.

• Fluency in the source language (English) and native proficiency in the target language "French".

• At least 1 year of experience in telephone interpretation with a reputable interpretation company.

• Strong understanding of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is advantageous.

• International certifications in the healthcare field are a plus (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language is required.

• High emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance are essential.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills are necessary.
