French to English OPI/VRI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Respond to incoming calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry in which you interpret, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages, without adding, omitting, or modifying content.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service throughout the interpretation process.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited French Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and comprehensive interpretations of messages.

• Implement established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show enthusiasm for acquiring new professional certifications.

• Maintain communication and report to your team leader.

• Adhere to the dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language French and a native speaker of the target language (English).

• A minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company.

• Strong understanding of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is advantageous.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are a plus (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Possess high emotional intelligence and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
