French to English OPI/VRI Interpretation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific terminology relevant to the industry, particularly healthcare and medical contexts.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without adding, omitting, or altering any content.

• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the interpreting process.

• Facilitate communication between Limited French Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and comprehensive interpretation of messages.

• Uphold standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Demonstrate a willingness to pursue new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader as needed.

• Adhere to dress code standards for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language French and a native speaker of the target language (English).

• At least 1 year of experience in telephone interpretation with a reputable interpretation company.

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is advantageous.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are a plus (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• High emotional intelligence and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
