French to English Medical Interpreter, OPI/VRI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Understand the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without addition, omission, or substitution.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and complete interpretations of messages.

• Apply industry standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training programs.

• Show eagerness to obtain new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader regularly.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in OPI is essential.

• Security Clearance (if not currently available, assistance will be provided to obtain it).

• Must possess citizenship or a Green Card.

• Fluent in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "French".

• At least 1 year of over-the-telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company.

• Strong understanding of medical terminology.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is advantageous.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are a plus (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Possess high emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
