French Canadian Linguist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Execute quality control activities on designated projects or accounts for EN > FRCA

• Carry out translation tasks on demand for EN > FRCA

• Engage in trans-creation, translation, and post-editing activities for EN > FRCA

• Handle translation-related administrative duties for EN > FRCA

• Address project-related inquiries

• Prepare, manage, and maintain linguistic materials, including glossaries, Style Guides, and work instructions

• Collaborate with clients on linguistic issues as necessary

• Develop and mentor both new and existing freelancers

• Foster positive interaction among team members and resolve terminology and language queries

• Contribute to the development of new and enhanced working processes

• Meet objectives set by the French Team Lead

• Coordinate translator activities, ensuring high quality, adherence to deadlines, and compliance with the Language Process

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Translation/Applied Languages or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• Over 4 years of pertinent experience in the translation and localization sector

• Native-level fluency in French Canadian, both written and spoken

• Proficient in English, both written and spoken

• Background as a translator in Mobile Apps, Search Engines, IT Consumer Products, Entertainment, Marketing, Software UI, or Websites is advantageous

• Strong understanding of both source and target languages

• Familiarity with terminology in IT consumer products, social media, and entertainment

• Comprehensive knowledge of the localization process

• Proficient with Windows, Office applications, and standard CAT tools

• Quick learner of new localization tools and applications

• Capable of effectively presenting information and addressing inquiries from managers, clients, customers, and translators

• Ability to work under tight deadlines

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

• Willingness and capability to train others and share knowledge

• Ability to work collaboratively in a virtual team
