Freelance Subtitling Linguist, Xhosa

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Transcribe and/or translate from Xhosa to English or proofread/QC subtitle files utilizing Pixelogic's proprietary cloud-based subtitling software.

• Utilize the in-house glossary tool to ensure consistency across products while adhering to client style guide specifications.

• Manage rejections and implement corrections in files as necessary.

• Stay updated on industry trends and adjust to changing client requirements.

• Ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information is maintained.

• Collaborate effectively with a team while adapting to shifting priorities and workloads.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bilingual in Xhosa and English.

• Proficiency in additional languages is a valuable asset.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in translation and/or proofreading is required.

• Experience in subtitling is advantageous.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential.

• Must demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines under a rigorous schedule, including on-time delivery and flexible working hours.

• Capable of following technical and style guides for various client content types.
