Freelance Security Researcher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Czechia.

📋 Description

• Conduct research and develop code to address complex security-related challenges.

• Analyze vulnerabilities independently and create systems for automated detection.

• Design and implement technologies aimed at future vulnerability analysis and the detection of new attack vectors.

• Re-create publicly accessible exploits using alternative programming languages.

• Develop methods for detection and testing that utilize banner grabbing, authenticated protocols, and targeted product evaluations.

• Engage with a variety of security tools, operating systems, Git, and network protocols.

• Collaborate directly with the Greenbone team on designated research and development tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Independent freelancer or self-employed security specialist.

• Several years of practical cybersecurity experience across various roles, projects, or research endeavors.

• Proficient coding abilities in either scripting or compiled programming languages.

• Software development as a fundamental aspect of daily responsibilities.

• A strong enthusiasm for coding, security research, vulnerability assessment, and emerging threats and attack techniques.

• Exceptional written communication skills in English.

• A drive to enhance software, tools, and processes for vulnerability detection and automation.

• An independent, organized, and proactive approach to work.

• Capability to rapidly comprehend, engage with, and enhance existing codebases.

• Must work as the individual executing the tasks; agencies, consultancies, staffing firms, outsourcing companies, and other intermediaries are not permitted.
