Freelance Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania, +5 more countries.

📋 Description

• Oversee various client projects spanning different industries and time zones, ensuring scope, timelines, and budgets are maintained.

• Establish project scope, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with clients.

• Guide client discovery phases to comprehend business requirements before the development process begins.

• Decompose intricate requirements into manageable iterations for engineering teams.

• Keep project documentation, backlogs, and roadmaps organized and up to date.

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives, and reviews.

• Deliver regular updates to clients regarding project status, potential risks, and important decisions.

• Define and estimate new engagements, assist in proposal development, and support presales activities.

• Work closely with design, engineering, and QA teams to ensure that delivered features align with expectations and fulfill user needs.

• Track project health using key performance indicators and identify risks proactively.

• Test completed features against agreed-upon requirements prior to delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 4 years of project management experience within a digital agency setting.

• Practical experience with the presales process, which includes crafting proposals, defining project scopes, and conducting discovery workshops.

• Strong grasp of digital product development and a product management perspective.

• Experience handling backlogs, writing user stories, and engaging in an Agile delivery approach.

• Capability to challenge client requirements and advocate for solutions that address the actual business challenges.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and clients concurrently.

• Experience in Web3/DeFi, fintech, healthcare, or e-commerce is highly advantageous.

• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Notion, Linear, or similar platforms.

• Ability to operate across US and European time zones.

• Proficient in English at a C1 level or higher.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for client-facing interactions.

• Experience collaborating with distributed international teams across various countries and time zones.
