Freelance Motion Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Design and animate motion graphics for launch videos, commercials, product explainers, social media content, and brand campaigns.

• Produce work from initial concept to final output, encompassing 2D, UI, typography, compositing, and animation driven by editing.

• Convert creative direction and storyboards into engaging motion that aligns with the desired tone, pacing, and atmosphere.

• Work in collaboration with producers, editors, designers, and directors.

• Quickly iterate based on feedback from creative leads and clients.

• Manage speed and quality across various projects and deadlines.

• Enhance work beyond the standard versions to deliver outstanding results.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience in motion design.

• A strong portfolio showcasing a variety of work in product and UI motion, brand projects, and edit-driven animation.

• Expert-level proficiency in After Effects.

• Comfortable utilizing Figma and DaVinci Resolve.

• Solid visual design principles in typography, layout, color, composition, and timing.

• A unique perspective on motion, including easing, transitions, and restraint.

• Ability to articulate motion design choices.

• Open to receiving feedback and able to iterate swiftly.

• Experience in studio, agency, or dynamic startup settings.

• A portfolio website URL is required with the application.
