Freelance Game LQA Tester, English to Portuguese

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in China.

📋 Description

• Conduct Language Quality Assurance to detect and rectify grammar, spelling, terminology, and stylistic issues.

• Review and proofread in-game text, user interface elements, dialogue scripts, and various localized materials.

• Identify, document, and report translation mistakes, inappropriate contextual usage, display irregularities, and formatting issues.

• Assess the quality, fluency, naturalness, cultural relevance, and consistency of localized materials.

• Maintain the tone and voice of the original content while adjusting it for cultural norms.

• Engage in creative discussions and offer linguistic insights for narrative development.

• Collaborate with the Localization Project Management team regarding timelines, deliverables, and linguistic resources.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native-level proficiency in Portuguese and fluent in English.

• Over 2 years of experience in LQA testing (English ↔ Portuguese).

• Deep cultural understanding of both English- and Portuguese-speaking markets.

• Familiarity with localization tools and content management systems.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a quality-first approach.

• Strong communication abilities and a collaborative spirit in cross-functional teams.

• Enthusiasm for gaming and awareness of mobile gaming trends.

• Authorization to work in China.

• A background in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field is advantageous.
