Freelance Game LQA Tester, English – Portuguese

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in China.

📋 Description

• Conduct Language Quality Assurance to detect and rectify grammar, spelling, terminology, and stylistic errors.

• Review and proofread in-game text, user interface elements, dialogue scripts, and other localized materials.

• Identify, document, and report translation inaccuracies, inappropriate contextual usage, display irregularities, and formatting issues.

• Assess the quality, fluency, naturalness, and cultural appropriateness of localized content.

• Maintain the tone and voice of the original material while tailoring it to meet cultural expectations.

• Engage in creative discussions and offer linguistic insights for narrative development.

• Work collaboratively with the Localization Project Management team on timelines, deliverables, and linguistic resources.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native-level proficiency in Portuguese and fluent in English.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Language Quality Assurance testing (English ↔ Portuguese).

• Strong cultural insight into both English- and Portuguese-speaking markets.

• Familiarity with localization tools and content management systems.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset within cross-functional teams.

• A genuine passion for gaming and an understanding of mobile gaming trends.

• A background in Translation, Linguistics, or a related discipline is advantageous.
