Fraud Operations Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee real-time transactions and customer activities identified for potential fraud and abuse requiring manual assessment.

• Analyze individual transactions using established policies and review techniques to ascertain if they are fraudulent.

• Familiarize with systems and tools; conduct data analysis to investigate account patterns.

• Explore fraud and user behaviors to aid in the development of machine learning models, rules, and detection systems.

• Collaborate with analysts, operations specialists, data scientists, and engineering teams to enhance fraud prevention strategies, processes, and tools.

• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of fraud prevention methods and technologies.

• Achieve or surpass service level agreements (SLAs) for timely resolution of queued cases to reduce potential losses.

• Address escalations from both internal and external parties in a professional and effective manner.

• Work full-time Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. local time (Central time zone).

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

• At least 1 year of experience in investigating and resolving fraud cases.

• Proficient in data analysis and making significant decisions in a dynamic and occasionally ambiguous setting.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.

• Solid business judgment along with effective communication skills.

• Capability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision after training.

• Availability to work during holidays.

• Proven experience with Claude or similar large language model tools; comfortable utilizing AI to boost productivity, research, and communication.

• Experience in fintech, payments, lending, banking, or financial institutions is advantageous.

• Preferred degree in statistics, mathematics, finance, economics, or a related quantitative field; a graduate degree is a bonus.

• Familiarity with database query languages (e.g., SQL) and data processing and analytics tools such as Python, R, or SAS is a plus.

• The ideal candidate should be able to start within two weeks of receiving an offer.
