Fraud Operations Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee real-time transactions and customer activities identified for potential fraud and abuse for further examination.

• Conduct investigations on individual transactions utilizing internal guidelines and assessment methodologies to ascertain if transactions are fraudulent.

• Gain insights into systems and tools; analyze account trends through data evaluation.

• Examine fraud and user behavior to assist in the development of machine learning models, rules, and detection systems.

• Collaborate with analysts, operations experts, data scientists, and engineering teams to enhance fraud prevention strategies, processes, and tools.

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of fraud prevention methods and technologies.

• Achieve or surpass service level agreements (SLAs) for timely resolution of pending cases to reduce potential losses.

• Manage escalations from both internal and external stakeholders in a professional and efficient manner.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

• At least 1 year of experience in investigating and resolving fraud-related incidents.

• Experience in data analysis and making significant decisions in a fast-paced and occasionally ambiguous setting.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.

• Strong business acumen and communication skills.

• Capable of self-motivating and working with minimal supervision post-training.

• Willingness to work during holidays.

• Proven experience utilizing Claude or similar large language model tools; comfortable using AI to boost productivity, research capabilities, and communication.

• Experience in fintech, payments, lending, banking, or financial institutions is desirable.

• A degree in statistics, mathematics, finance, economics, or a related quantitative field is preferred; a graduate degree is an advantage.

• Familiarity with database query languages such as SQL and data processing and analytics tools like Python, R, or SAS is a plus.

• Preference for candidates available to start within two weeks of receiving an offer.
