Fraud Investigator, Part Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Collect and assess evidence from flagged transaction data to detect ongoing fraud attempts.

• Determine whether to authorize or halt suspicious transactions.

• Investigate questionable activities through phone and chat interactions.

• Provide support and reassurance to customers during ongoing fraud incidents.

• Secure compromised accounts and implement corrective measures.

• Prioritize incoming cases and evaluate customer limit increase requests.

• Oversee account closure procedures when investigations reveal first-party concerns.

• Offer personalized advice to fraud victims to help mitigate future risks.

• Complete post-investigation tasks and maintain an accurate audit trail.

⛳️ Requirements

• Background in Banking, Financial Services (e.g., FOS, HMRC), or Law Enforcement is preferred.

• Familiarity with common fraud types and investigative problem-solving; experience as a fraud specialist is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Capability to delve deeply during investigations and clarify the rationale behind decisions.

• Excellent proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

• Ability to communicate persuasively and empathetically, especially under pressure.

• Capacity to work independently while collaborating with a broader team.

• Outstanding communication skills for challenging customer interactions.

• Confidence in communicating through phone, in-app chat, and email, including both inbound and outbound calls.

• Proactive mindset towards continuous improvement and responsiveness to feedback.

• Solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.

• Assurance in making firm, independent decisions on complex cases.

• Willingness to work the assigned permanent Saturday or Sunday rotation.

• Completion of an 11-week training program.
