This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Lead the finance operations across the UK and US, encompassing accounting, taxation, payroll, and reporting.
• Manage month-end closing, preparation of management accounts, consolidation, and audit readiness.
• Collaborate with leadership on financial planning, analysis, and scenario modeling.
• Enhance and streamline finance workflows and automation in areas such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, procure-to-pay, and expense management.
• Supervise tax compliance for both UK and US, including VAT, R&D, PSA, P11D, PAYE, and US sales tax.
• Coordinate with external advisors as required.
• Direct year-end audits and ensure adherence to UK GAAP, IFRS, and US GAAP (ASC 606).
• Manage cash flow and working capital effectively.
• Assist in optimizing ERP and accounting systems to support scalability.
• Provide financial insights to Operations, Sales, and Product teams.
• Aid in equity management, EMI schemes, intercompany transactions, and consolidation reporting.
• Offer accounting expertise for M&A transactions, due diligence, and post-acquisition integration as necessary.
• Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or CPA).
• At least 7+ years of progressive experience in finance.
• Hands-on experience as a Controller or in fractional finance roles within a SaaS, fintech, or technology company, preferably post-Series A/B.
• Proven track record of managing and enhancing finance functions autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Strong technical expertise in UK GAAP, IFRS, and US GAAP (ASC 606).
• Demonstrated success in multi-entity and multi-currency environments (UK/US).
• Proficient in ERP and procure-to-pay tools along with advanced Excel skills.
• Comfortable with automation and making data-driven decisions.
• Excellent understanding of SaaS financial metrics like ARR, deferred revenue, churn, and LTV/CAC.
• Experience in managing tax, audits, payroll, and statutory compliance.
• Self-motivated individual with strong ownership, attention to detail, and a mindset geared toward process improvement.
• Available to commit approximately 2 days per week (minimum 20–22 hours) on a continuous basis.
• Must possess the legal right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not an option.
